Mini Bio

Hi, my name is Chris. I am 40 years old, married to Sharon and have 2 young children. I have Chiari and Syringomyelia and went through Decompression surgery in April 2009. The aim of this blog is to raise awareness of this condition and offer support by way of helpful information to other sufferers. This blog represents my own experiences, those of my friends and people that I have met with these conditions and the great advice that I have been offered and my journey towards either acceptance or recovery.

Performancing Metrics for your Website or Blog

logo.gif

Website and Blog authors always want to know how many visitors come to their site.

Not just from a pride point of view or a validation requirement, but also to see what areas are working and what are not, where their visitors are coming from, what they are looking at, how long they stay, what sites have you been referred from, what keywords are being used to find your site on google etc.

There are many reasons initially, but also many more when you want to dig deeper.

of course there are programs like Googles Analytics service which report up to 24 hours behind and provide a plethora of information.

There are other programs like Performancing Metrics which can be found by clicking this link.

I am currently using the pro-service free for 30 days, but will more than likely be signing up for a paid account with them as the information that I am getting is absolutely first class.

I can see who is on my site immediately, where they are coming from, and all of the above plus more, and its in real time, it breaks down the time they came to the site too!

Google analytics reports only on visitors that have Java enabled to talk to Google, so you miss out on lots of visitor numbers, I compare this to my server stats which are far more accurate as they record every visit, but do not give me nearly as much useable information.

Performancing Metrics can also report the non-java visits if you tick the box. Of course you wont get all of the information, but you will get an accurate idea of what your real traffic volume is.

A great tool for any Website or Blog owner!
