Funding for Chiari Blog
I have funded the building and maintenance of this site myself as I want to raise awareness of Chiari Malformation and Syringomyelia.
I do not ask for a membership fee, nor for any donation and have no future plans to, as I believe firmly that this kind of information should be available free of charge to everyone.
However, there are other ways of providing income on the internet to pay for website costs, and these do not cost you a penny.
You will notice commercial adds dotted around the page, these are all links to various companies and products that you may find of use in your everyday lives.
Christmas is nearly here and I am sure a lot of you will be looking at Amazon perhaps to purchase products on-line.
By clicking on my links, all it does is take you to the normal Amazon site that Google would, where you can purchase anything that your heart desires - except for one difference - I get a small % of what you spend back. I won't bore you with the technical details of how.

It does NOT cost you any more money, the products that you buy through the links are the same price as going through a normal Amazon search - it uses the exact same pages.
Once you click on the link - any link, you are able to search the whole Amazon site to find anything that your little heart desires, nit just what the link promotes.
I have even included a search widget on the top right of the screen.
Remember also that Amazon are giving you "free delivery" this year without any minimum spend!
Please feel free to help out, but if you would prefer not to - then that's perfectly ok too!
Thank you.

That's really well put, and a great way to support Chiariblog without it costing me a penny. I'm in!
Ty sir, appreciate the support very much indeed!
How about pillows Chris? I see the cervical pillow ad for Amazon, is that similar to the chiari one I was going to order? If so then I may as well order through you but if its not then obviously I wont however I will be buying books from Amazon for Xmas for the kids so that works out well!
Hi Laura! I hope that you are well?
To be honest I am not sure what the Chiari pillow looks like....I have never ordered one....perhaps we can ask Jade as hers never leaves her side!
I think that they do it so it isn't easily copied from a picture(yet the buyer has to reply upon the fact that it is a "Chiari" pillow in the description.....but they can't help letting the buyers see it when they receive it as.....well....I think that one is obvious.
But at least here you can see the extra value from a normal pillow from the time that you purchase. If I had have seen this pre-op, then I would have bought it if I had have known what I was going to need post-op..............but then again I am known as the "pillow collector" ;)~
I looked a this one, and the other one that I have a link to and thought....well, yes! In fact it would have probably done me a lot of good, I especially like the cervical roll under the neck.....that would have helped me enormously in the early days when all I could do was lay on my back.
The other one allows you to keep the same spinal position when laying on your back of your front. I found this impossible when I first came out of surgery and ended up going through 2 weeks of Sciatic torture because I had to keep turning, but couldn't get my spinal position right.......... again in hindsight I would have bought this also as it would have saved me 2 more weeks on Codeine.
The other stuff like the Arnica and Bio-oil I can honestly and personally recommend 100%. If you have seen the pictures Post-op then you will see that I had "no bruising", none whatsoever from a major procedure (no need to go into detail here) and that it healed very quickly (partly due to taking mega vitamin C doses - also available from Amazon!) and the fact that it has healed so fast through the use of Bio-oil post op. The other day I was told that my scar looked like it was over 12 months old. it is actually only 6 months old........ how good is that?
Thank you Laura, I would appreciate the help if you would remember. You are a star!
Thank you hunny.
Chris
