Mini Bio

Hi, my name is Chris. I am 40 years old, married to Sharon and have 2 young children. I have Chiari and Syringomyelia and went through Decompression surgery in April 2009. The aim of this blog is to raise awareness of this condition and offer support by way of helpful information to other sufferers. This blog represents my own experiences, those of my friends and people that I have met with these conditions and the great advice that I have been offered and my journey towards either acceptance or recovery.

Brain Fog? Know What I Mean?

brain fog.jpg

A fellow Chiari Blogger friend of mine published an article on his own blog Zipperheads UK which made me really think about my own experiences. I have often talked about it flippantly in forums, but have never really looked at it as a serious symptom.

However, looking back, and looking at what I am doing now I realise that my ability to concentrate whilst doing every day things, sometimes very simple, can be extremely difficult at times.

It doesn't happen every day, or every time.....but it does happen a lot. I find myself sitting back, trying hard to focus upon my thought process - something which I have never really had to do much in the past. I have always had the ability to work on multiple projects with clarity of thought, park up some thoughts, then bring them back when needed. Now? I really think that I am struggling.

Even the most simplest of thought processes do take quite simply a lot more effort.

Or is it that I am turning blonde? Probably not, as the grey hair seems to be winning at the moment........
